The Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) is a nonprofit news organization located in Emeryville, California. Since 1977, it has been dedicated to investigative journalism, uncovering issues like scandals and corruption in government and businesses. In 2010, CIR started the California Watch project to enhance its reporting efforts, and in 2012, it joined forces with The Bay Citizen to expand its reach.
