Review of Religions

The Review of Religions is a monthly magazine published in English by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. It has been in continuous publication since 1902, making it one of the oldest Islamic magazines in the English language. Often regarded as the primary publication of the Ahmadiyya movement, it serves as a valuable resource for understanding the growth of Ahmadi activities around the world. Founded by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the magazine was created to provide a clear understanding of Islamic teachings to English-speaking audiences and to counteract common misconceptions about the faith. The articles primarily reflect the unique Ahmadi viewpoint, and early plans to include more general religious content were set aside at Ghulam Ahmad’s request. Originally published in Qadian, the editorial office moved to London when Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud, the second Caliph of the Ahmadiyya community, visited in 1924 to establish the London Mosque. Over the years, the magazine's content has expanded to include a wide range of topics, including theology, science, philosophy, the history of religions, international politics, and current events.

© ShutterstockThe Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) did not let any opportunity of service to mankind slip without taking some action. He would become restless on hearing the distress of a person. It did not matter what country or nation that wronged person belonged to. When the Muslims who had migrated to Abyssinia returned to Madinah, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) asked them to describe some interesting event they had observed. One young man related this incident.

The annual gathering of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at was a feast of peaceful families and sincere faith. In Pakistan, however, persecution continues. Islam has a clear problem with women, and for Ahmadi Muslims, that problem is even bigger. Why? Because Ahmadi women are so well-educated and accomplished that they often outshine men. This ironic twist flips the stereotype on its head, countering the fanaticism shown by some radical Muslim clerics.
