A major effort is now underway in the City of Richardson as the material used for water service lines at thousands of homes are being identified – specifically those homes built before 1966 when materials like lead and galvanized steel were still commonly used and largely unregulated. Compass Metering Service is a third-party contractor hired by the city to do the identifying. Crews will be targeting about 11,000 properties where records don’t show what kind of pipes were installed.

This weekend, the group is performing at the Eisemann Center where jazz will be taking center stage, but before they perform, Sammy Miller and the Congregation are spending the week visiting students at schools in Richardson and Plano. It’s part of Eisemann Educates, an education and outreach component of Eisemann Center Presents.

The public is invited to join the Mayor and City Council for the annual State of the City Address, Wednesday, Jan. 29, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Eisemann Center’s Bank of America Theatre. The Address will focus on the past year’s highlights for the City of Richardson and take a look at the City’s goals and priorities for 2025. A reception will follow in the Leftwich Grand Foyer. Admission and parking for the event are free. The Address will be available to watch online live and on-demand later.
