Ricochet Media
We are committed to journalism that serves the public good. Journalism is facing significant challenges, including media consolidation, job cuts, and advertising that often overshadows the news itself. In response to these tough times, Ricochet stands out as a bold initiative. Our independent platform focuses on investigative reporting and sharp opinions, aiming to shed light on Canada's rich cultural and political diversity. Ricochet is a collaborative effort between English and French speakers in a diverse Canada, shaped by an awareness of our colonial past and a commitment to supporting Indigenous rights. We offer two separate editions—one in English and one in French—each maintaining its own editorial voice. Funded by our community, Ricochet prioritizes the public interest by providing completely free content, breaking away from the trend of paywalls that restrict access to information. By backing this new media model, our readers are helping finance genuine independent journalism. Launched in 2014, Ricochet operates across multiple platforms with offices located in Vancouver and Montreal.
