Rock and Ice

Rock and Ice

Rock & Ice is a magazine dedicated to rock and ice climbing, produced by Big Stone Publishing. It was launched in early 1984, with its inaugural issue appearing in late 1985. Neal Kaptain was the magazine's first publisher, but it changed hands within a year when George Bracksieck took over, serving as editor until 1997. Bracksieck's company, North-South Publications, later sold the magazine to Primedia, which was managed by Dougald MacDonald and his team. The magazine is released eight times a year and was originally based in Boulder, Colorado, before relocating to Carbondale in 2002.
