S/FJ

I launched my blog in October 2003, and my style has remained quite consistent over the years. I share digital photos, essays, curated links, audio mixes, messages, and interviews. I handle all the writing myself, except for occasional guest posts, which have been rare lately. Joe Levy and Heidi DeRuiter help edit all of the content. If you want to visit my main website, you can find it here.

Daniel Saldaña Paris: On January 1st, at 7 am, I left my apartment in Bed-Stuy determined to bike to Coney Island to welcome the new year, but there was a fat, beautiful possum on the stoop, blocking the building’s door. I gently tried to get him to move but he wouldn’t, he just stared at me, half asleep, annoyed by my insistence. That really set the tone for the year ahead, a year of good intentions derailed by wild surprises.
