    Despite a federal judge’s order bringing Alabama into the fold of marriage equality states, dozens of probate judges in Alabama on Monday refused to issue licenses to same-sex couples, according to the New York Times. Alabama recently became the 37th state in the union to become a marriage equality state (in this case by court order)--but the first where judges in most counties are defying that order.

    In a 3-to-2 vote earlier today, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) implemented sweeping net neutrality rules, including prohibitions on site and app blocking, speed throttling, and paid fast lanes. It reclassified Internet providers’ services as “telecommunications services” under Title II of the Communications Act, giving the Commission the power to enforce these rules.

Mayer, 24 slots below Rothblatt to be exact and earning roughly $13 million less. Only 11 females made the list of top 200 CEOs in 2014.

    This article has been updated from its original post by the Second Nexus editors on 1/29/15. In 2012, I donated to help my candidate win, and hoped my party would hold on to some key seats in the House and Senate. Granted, it wasn't a lot of money--probably under $50 total. But I felt I'd done my part. I was one of the over 3 million people who put their money behind their beliefs. As it turns out, I might as well have been throwing my money into the wind.
