Unless something really dramatic happens, Ben Kraws name isn’t going to come up much during the first-round series between the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche.

The Colorado Avalanche opened Game 1 of their first round series with the Dallas Stars with a 5-1 win in Texas. For the Stars it’s pretty familiar territory, they’ve know lost Game 1 in eight straight series, which they’ll have to dig out of again. Artturi Lehkonen, Nathan MacKinnon, Devon Toews, and Charlie Coyle scored for the Avalanche. Roope Hintz had Dallas only goal. Game 2 is Monday, I will be on location in Dallas. This is the 20/20. 1.

Good morning. The NHL playoff start tomorrow, with the Dallas Stars hosting the Colorado Avalanche in Game 1. It’s a fascinating series, one that I started writing about last week. On the Stars, Avalanche, and the first-round prize fight we've all been waiting forToday we wanted to bring a conversational tone to the preview, so I teamed up with my pal Bob Sturm over at Sturm Stack to discuss a Stars-Avalanche in a piece thats’ being co-published at both places.

I’m going to enter this piece with a warning. This was difficult to write and it’ll likely be difficult to read. It’s raw and emotional, and it probably deserves a trigger warning for anyone who’s ever dealt with abuse or has been rocked by the extended impact of abuse. I also need to tell you why I’m publishing this today and what this is.

Whether he plays in the Dallas Stars regular season finale tonight or not, Lian Bichsel is going to finish as the team leader in hits. And it’s not close. Bichsel has been credited with 155 hits this season, 42 more than Jamie Benn and then nearly double anyone else on the roster. It’s even more jarring when you consider Bichsel only has played 38 games, less than half the season, and his 16.43 hits per 60 ranks 25th in the NHL amongst players with at least 25 NHL games this season.
