Smooth Country

Smooth Radio is a collection of local adult contemporary radio stations that operate on FM and AM frequencies across the UK. It started broadcasting in March 2014, replacing the original national Smooth Radio that debuted in 2010 on FM and took over most of the Gold stations on AM. During weekdays, each FM station offers local breakfast and drivetime shows, while the rest of the programming is networked and broadcast from London. Out of the six FM stations, three, along with all eighteen AM channels, are owned and managed by Global. The other three FM licenses are held by Communicorp and are operated under a franchise agreement.
