Ever since Everspace 2 came out, I thought it would be very hard for any other game to surpass its marvelous space RPG, looter-shooting gameplay. While the Titans DLC had a rather mixed reception from the community, I was very excited to see another, rather large DLC coming in, this time focusing on the Okkar and their unique background. Simply put, we get to learn more about this civilization, its beginnings, and the challenges they faced, while trying to avoid any signs of war.

Ever since Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream was announced, I kept my eyes on it, for a very good reason. It brings that vibe of Gears Tactics, Desperados 3 and Shadow Gambit, with a great level design, impressive stealth and a lot of soul. But make no mistake, the game is anything but easy, and you’ll have to use all the skills at your disposal to get past all kinds of challenges.

The idea here is that the Old Ones came back, they destroyed most of the human civilization, with only a few people getting to escape to the Dreamlands. After a while, you get back to Earth in an effort to defeat Cthulhu once and for all.

Where does human folly end and supernatural interference begin? Can someone emerge from a devastating fire without trickery and secure a mantle of leadership? Can followers of a religious figure discover how he died without having to pierce the mantle of holiness that surrounds him? I wonder about these questions even as I struggle to match names to faces and understand table eating arrangements. I’ve already solved the murder of a royal, using only one hint.
