LOUIS, Mo. - The Southern Illinois University softball team was awarded three of the four weekly awards for the Missouri Valley Conference after a 5-0 week against Missouri State, Missouri, and Bradley. Emily Williams was named the MVC Player and Newcomer of the Week, while McKenzie Newcomb was awarded the Pitcher of the Week. This is the first time Williams has received Player of the Week honors and the third time she's been the Newcomer of the Week, last winning it on March 24.

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University softball team (23-15, 14-1) continued its dominance at home in 2025 on Friday, defeating Bradley, 6-3. With the win, SIU improved to 15-2 while playing in Carbondale, the most wins at home in the Missouri Valley Conference this season. The Salukis are also 8-0 in home conference games and are the only team in the MVC to be undefeated in home games.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Southern Illinois University softball team (22-15, 13-1) earned a 5-3 win at Missouri on Wednesday, its first win against the Tigers since 2007. "It was important for us to gauge where we were at," head coach Jen Sewell said. "We had some SEC opponents early and probably weren't ready then for what we were able to do today. So I think it speaks to our growth as a team this year. We managed the game a little bit better, managing our emotions, our at bats, and our pitches.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Southern Illinois University softball team (21-15, 13-1) won its fourth consecutive game on Tuesday at Missouri State, defeating the Lady Bears, 6-3. Inside the Box Score Southern scored six runs on 10 hits with one error, while Missouri State had three runs on six hits and one error in the loss. McKenzie Newcomb (13-5) got the win after allowing four hits, three runs (zero earned), one walk, with seven strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched.
