Spirits Review

Spirits Review

We assess a variety of beverages including distilled spirits, bitters, beer, wine, mixers, and garnishes. Our evaluations focus on overall quality as well as the value for the price. Additionally, we are connected to sister websites: Barwarereviews.com (currently being developed) and Boozebooks.com. The former reviews barware and equipment for both home and commercial settings, while the latter covers books related to spirits, cocktails, and alcohol topics. Our team also travels extensively as photojournalists, capturing images and writing about distilleries, breweries, bars, and cocktail events. Our goal is to inform people about where products are made, who creates them, and the best places to enjoy them.

One of the best batches of wheat whiskey they have produced ion recent memory Notes: This is a relatively new whiskey for Heaven Hill but actually quite an old one as far as the United States is concerned. Wheat whiskey was actually the original whiskey of the United States, with hundreds of distilleries in New York state alone long before the whiskey rebellion and for a period of time afterward.

Odd name, Great Gin. One of the more interesting variations on a London Dry Gin we have encountered for a while !Excellent! Notes: Owned and operated entirely by women ( a rare thing in the spirits industry), Danielle Leavell, their master distiller, has a very impressive set of credentials. Astraeus gin is both macerated (18 to 36 hours, depending on which one it is and the desired level of extraction)  and then distilled in one pass.

A very much overlooked Puerto Rican rum, that not only tastes good but very mixable also Notes: Ron del Barrilito is one of the oldest Puerto Rican rum brands, founded in 1880. Don Q Serrales rum, founded in 1865, is 15 years older,Their rum is aged in an ex-Oloroso sherry cask made of white oak. No artificial color, caramel, sugars, or other additives are used.
