Spoonfuls of Germany

When I moved from Germany to the United States in 1998, I never thought I would end up writing about German food. I've enjoyed cooking since I was a teenager, but it wasn't until I arrived in America that I realized how little I knew about German cuisine. Aside from a few beloved baking recipes from my grandmother, German dishes were a mystery to me, just like they are for many other cooks.
