Sputnik, pronounced spʊtnɪk, is a news agency that includes news websites and a radio broadcasting service. It was created by the Russian government-backed news organization Rossiya Segodnya. Its main office is located in Moscow, with additional editorial offices in cities like Washington, Cairo, Beijing, London, and Edinburgh. The agency primarily covers international politics and economics, targeting audiences outside of Russia. However, Sputnik has faced criticism for potential bias, spreading misinformation, and being viewed as a tool for Russian propaganda.
