Startup Beat

StartUp Beat has undergone a revamp to provide a fresh perspective on startups globally. We will continue to showcase the most groundbreaking early-stage startups through engaging company pitches, insightful interviews, and articles from industry experts. Our new headquarters is located in Medellín, Colombia, which is quickly becoming a key tech hub in Latin America. This transformation would not be possible without our founder, Brian Kovalesky. Brian established StartUp Beat in 2007 as a digital media initiative aimed at shining a light on innovative startups that often go unnoticed by mainstream tech publications. With a solid background in journalism, marketing, and communications, Brian is also in the final stages of earning his Ph.D. in U.S. History. His efforts with StartUp Beat received recognition in 2013 from the Columbia School of Journalism’s Tow Center for Digital Journalism during their Single Subject News conference and research project.
