    Hundreds braved the stormy weather today for the Stoke-on-Trent People's Parade which saw creatives, performers and organisations take to the streets in Hanley in a vibrant celebration of the city. The parade forms part of the celebrations to mark Stoke-on-Trent being awarded official city status and included a 16ft puppet, one hundred ducks, dancing cupcakes and a twenty-strong marching band, KiLNE.     A Second World War aircraft is due to fly over Stoke-on-Trent later today as part of the city's centenary celebrations. A Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster Bomber will be in the skies above Stoke-on-Trent later today as hundreds of artists, creatives and community groups come together for the People's Parade in Hanley.

    "Significant" road works are starting in Newcastle-under-Lyme on Monday 9 June and will last for around 6 weeks. Lower Milehouse Lane will be resurfaced in parts, including the approaches and exits from Douglas Road to approximately 100 meters west of Wilmot Drive. Crews will also be fixing damaged drainage, kerbing and ironwork and installing additional tactile crossings.

    Two men have been hospitalised after a 'large disturbance' in Stoke-on-Trent this morning (6 June)Emergency services were called out to Argyll Road, off Upper Belgrave Road, in Normacot at 11:45am. Videos which circulated on social media showed at least eight police cars in attendance and dozens of people in the street on Argyll Road. Two men were left with head injuries and have been taken to hospital by paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service.
