Storyworks
Storyworks is a literary magazine created for students in grades 3-6 and their teachers, published in the United States by Scholastic Inc. Launched in 1993 by editor Tamara Hanneman, the magazine comes out six times a year during the school term. Each edition includes a mix of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and a play. Additionally, Storyworks offers a variety of writing prompts, word games, contests, and short articles focused on reading and writing. A Teacher's Edition is also available, providing educators with helpful ideas and strategies for incorporating the magazine into their lessons. Currently, the magazine is edited by Lauren Tarshis, a well-known author of children's literature, including the popular "I Survived" series, which has reached New York Times bestseller status. The editorial team operates out of New York City, while distribution takes place from Jefferson City, Missouri.
