Founded in 1893 with the launch of the Tages-Anzeiger newspaper, Tamedia has grown into a major national media organization in Switzerland, employing around 1,800 people across both German- and French-speaking areas. It boasts the country's most prominent editorial network and offers a mix of daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, and online news platforms, all of which are deeply rooted in local communities while also connected to a global network. Tamedia plays a vital role in informing, entertaining, and guiding the public. Some of its well-known media brands include 24 heures, Basler Zeitung, Bilan, BZ Berner Zeitung, Das Magazin, Der Bund, Finanz und Wirtschaft, Le Matin Dimanche, Schweizer Familie, SonntagsZeitung, Tages-Anzeiger, and Tribune de Genève, in addition to various Zurich regional publications (ZRZ). Furthermore, Tamedia operates the three largest newspaper printing plants in Switzerland and is part of the TX Group.
