Tehelka, which means "sensational" in Hindi, is an Indian news magazine recognized for its deep investigative reporting and undercover operations. It was established in 2000 by Tarun Tejpal and Aniruddha Bahal as an online platform. In 2004, it began publishing tabloid-style newspapers before transitioning to a magazine format in 2007. Tehelka gained attention with its first sting operation in 2000, which uncovered a cricket match-fixing scandal. Its most famous operation, known as "Operation West End," took place in 2001. In November 2013, Tarun Tejpal stepped down as editor after facing allegations of sexual assault from a female colleague.
