The Baxley News-Banner
The Baxley News-Banner holds the distinction of being the oldest business in Baxley, having been established in 1884 by Warren P. Ward from Douglas, initially named the Baxley Banner. Starting in 1885, it became the primary source for most official county announcements. In 1902, the Baxley Banner acquired the Appling County News from A.M. Cool, leading to its current name, The Baxley News-Banner. In 1940, the publication expanded further by purchasing the Baxley Herald from Carr McLemore.
