The Black Chronicle
The Black Chronicle is a weekly newspaper that serves the African-American community in Oklahoma. Established in April 1979 and located in the Eastside of Oklahoma City, it is owned by Perry Publishing and Broadcasting. Currently, it boasts the highest paid circulation of any weekly newspaper in Oklahoma. The Black Chronicle has its roots in the Black Dispatch, a publication that began in 1915, founded by Roscoe Dungee and later managed by his son, John Dungee. After John Dungee passed away, the newspaper was acquired by Russell Perry, a dedicated employee who had worked there for many years.
