The Business Journal
Pacific Publishing Group has a rich history that dates back to 1886, just a few months after Fresno became an incorporated city. The company was initially established by H.C. Miller under the name Abstract of Records. In 1888, Morris Shelby Webster acquired the business. M.S. Webster arrived in Fresno from the Midwest at the young age of 15 in 1876. He started off working as a sheepherder in the Sierras before securing a position at First National Bank, where he began to learn about the business world.
