The Business Journal
Pacific Publishing Group has a rich history that dates back to 1886, just a few months after Fresno became an incorporated city. The company was initially established by H.C. Miller under the name Abstract of Records. In 1888, Morris Shelby Webster acquired the business. M.S. Webster arrived in Fresno from the Midwest at the young age of 15 in 1876. He started off working as a sheepherder in the Sierras before securing a position at First National Bank, where he began to learn about the business world.

U.S. stocks rose Wednesday as a worldwide rally came back around to Wall Street after President Donald Trump appeared to back off his criticism of the Federal Reserve and his tough talk in his trade war. The S&P 500 climbed 1.7% and added to its big gain from Tuesday that more than made up for a steep loss on Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 419 points, or 1.1%, and the Nasdaq composite gained 2.5%.
