On Friday, April 11, the Santa Monica College (SMC) women’s soccer team opened its doors for the first time this semester at the Corsair Stadium. Playing in a unique three 30-minute-halves spring scrimmage against Las Estrellas Football Club (LEFC), they defeated Las Estrellas, 2-0. The Corsairs, preparing for the upcoming fall 2025 season, hosted Las Estrellas in a scrimmage, as the next few games this spring semester are seen as the developmental phase for the Corsairs.

For over two decades, Frederick (Keith) Fiddmont has been at the helm of the Santa Monica College (SMC) Jazz Ensemble, shaping the dynamic of the group while catering to the individual talents of each artist. An accomplished saxophonist and educator, Fiddmont said, “Jazz is the closest thing we have to a meritocracy,” where one's contribution to the arts is valued for its authenticity and creativity rather than its status or privilege.

On Tuesday, April 3, the Santa Monica College (SMC) women’s softball team (2-11) were defeated by the Moorpark College (MC) softball team (17-9), 33-1. The Corsairs, currently seventh in the Western State Conference North Division, came into this matchup hoping to improve after their last matchup against Ventura College where they lost 20-1. On the other hand, the Raiders, who sit in third, approached the match with confidence after defeating Chaffey College 7-0.

The Corsairs, returning from an away game against the Monarchs on Thursday, Feb. 27, were looking to get their revenge in today’s game after losing to the Monarchs 17-2 in their previous matchup.
