Classes were supported by multiple local trades and unions. More than a dozen participants in a union-led English as a second language class have graduated in Milwaukee. Ironworkers Local 8 and the Laborers Local 113 organized the class, which teaches English to Hispanic construction workers incorporating construction terms and scenarios.

A private boat stranded on Milwaukee’s lakefront for months has been finally removed. Milwaukee-based All City Towing on Tuesday removed Deep Thought, a private boat that ran aground on the Lake Michigan shoreline near Lincoln Memorial Drive, after several failed attempts by other parties. The beached vessel was first found in October 2024, after the owners ran out of fuel before they could make it to McKinley Marina.
