As the old saying goes; when one door closes, another opens. In this case, the closing door is the end of the 2024-25 college basketball season, and the opening door is the transfer portal. This seems to be a philosophy many of the top players in the country are subscribed to, as countless elite talents have already entered their names into the portal only a few days after their final game of the year.

When evaluating potential NBA talent, fans and evaluators alike often lose sight of the development process in its entirety. We zone in on prospects who’ll be selected in the upcoming draft and throw players to the wayside who may not become a real prospect until the following year(s). Today I want to cover Illinois’ Kylan Boswell, who I do not think has what it takes to make an NBA leap as of today, but who has shown enough intriguing flashes for me to believe in his long-term development.
