The Gymternet

Lauren Hopkins started her writing journey with The Couch Gymnast in July 2010, initially contributing a few articles each year before stepping up as the U.S. Editor in 2012. In 2014, she launched The Gymternet, where she serves as Editor-in-Chief, dedicated to providing top-notch coverage, interviews, features, historical insights, and opinions from true gymnastics enthusiasts. As a journalist, Lauren has reported on every elite gymnastics event held in the U.S., along with major international competitions such as world championships and the Olympics. She also served as an associate producer for NBC’s live digital coverage of the Olympic Games, earning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Trans-Media Sports Coverage as part of the NBCOlympics.com team. Her writing has appeared in various international publications, including the Huffington Post. Additionally, she has authored two young adult novels centered around elite gymnastics, with a third book set to be released in 2017. Originally from New England, Lauren graduated with a BA in History from Columbia University in 2014, and she currently resides in New York City.
