The Hastings Center
The Hastings Center focuses on the social and ethical challenges in health care, science, and technology. Our approach involves looking at these issues through a shared perspective that helps us pinpoint the important values involved, find ways to enhance them, and manage any conflicts that may arise. We consistently evaluate situations based on a few key ethical principles such as fairness, compassion, integrity, and stewardship. Additionally, we aim to uncover the often overlooked values and assumptions that shape traditional views on who faces costs, who reaps benefits, and who encounters risks.
