(The Lion) — Multiple media outlets are denouncing the Netherlands’ legalized euthanasia regime after a new report documented skyrocketing cases of assisted suicide, especially among those with mental illness. Experts are also highlighting the spike in euthanasia cases for those under 30. In 2024, there were 9,958 total reports of euthanasia in the Netherlands in all cases, a 10% increase over 2023, said the report.

Kennedy Jr. announced a significant restructuring of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Thursday in a move to streamline the huge federal agency and cut costs. Kennedy plans to trim about 10,000 employees from the agency’s workforce in addition to employees who left as part of a Deferred Resignation Program, similar to a buy out, earlier this year. The move is expected to save about $1.8 billion.

(The Center Square) – President Donald Trump Thursday called for defunding National Public Radio and Public Broadcasting Service, two partially federally funded groups under scrutiny in the DOGE era. Trump’s comments come after heads of both NPR and PBS defended their work at a Wednesday Congressional hearing. “NPR and PBS, two horrible and completely biased platforms (Networks!), should be DEFUNDED by Congress, IMMEDIATELY,” Trump said on Truth Social.
