The time has again come to bare your pale legs and get a little color. Summer skin is on my mind today, replete with all the maintenance that comes with after a long winter off-duty. I’m talking moisturizing, dealing with body hair, procuring a gleaming tan, buying fresh swimwear and undies, and (of course) lots of SPF. Today’s letter is a survival kit of my hero products — and the early-season skivvies I’ve picked up.

Hi! Hope your week’s been as lovely as mine — Spring finally bloomed in New York, and all any of my friends can say is “WE ARE SO BACK!” There’s nothing like a 74-degree day to make you realize you are not clinically depressed, you just haven’t seen the sun in months. My friends Olivia, Kelly, Meredith, and I sat outside at La Mercerie for hours, soaking it all in over multiple bottles of white Burgundy. Heaven.

Good morning, I’m feeling introspective today after what I thought was a cold turned out to be long COVID, which I’m still recovering from. I’m no longer contagious, but I’ve been drained and weak. An Olympic gold medal sleeper—tens across the board. The silver lining of having lots of sudden downtime is that I’ve been able to spend more time than usual catching up with friends.

As Fashion Substack has grown over the last few years, there has been no shortage of snark about the pieces ubiquitously embraced by the fashion crowd. You know the staples: Juju Vera jewelry, High Sport pants, a Chava Studio shirt… the list goes on. Hi friends,I’m rather sick today. Kevin and I both came down with a nasty cold the night before last, almost in unison. So I’ve been mostly sleeping and recovering this week. It’s been an intense month or so. I was amidst a significant management change (so happy to have landed in the right place with AIRE) and onboarding a new assistant.

We went on a little Sunday night date to Corner Store last night, and I was flooded with DMs about how I did my makeup. It’s never what you think that piques people’s interest! Given this took me all of five minutes and most of the products are included in the Sephora sale, I thought I’d share a quick breakdown of why I was able to knock this look out in a flat five. Good makeup is better on top of good skin.
