The New Classical FM
The New Classical 96.3 FM, known for playing Toronto's favorite classical music, began over 25 years ago as a small classical station in the charming town of Cobourg, Ontario (which still broadcasts as Classical 103.1 FM). On August 30, 2014, we broadened our reach by launching Classical 102.9 FM to serve the Georgian Triangle area.

It makes the right amount of batter for six of the large size preferred by my colleague Jean Stilwell or 12 smaller muffins, depending upon your preference.

Station Blog2025-5-15This recipe is my slightly modified version of the original Canadian butter tart recipe. It was first published and distributed across the Dominion in the 1913 edition of the Five Roses Flour Canadian Cookbook. I don’t make my own pastry and if you are just starting out on your baking adventure, I recommend you use frozen pastry shells. I buy them in packs of 30 at the Super Centre in Oakville. The no-name ones come in packs of 30. I find the sweetened variety works best.

Station Blog2025-5-1Hope Muir is the Artistic Director with the National Ballet of Canada. She has been in that spot for the last several years. One has to look at this 2024/25 season with admiration. Beautiful classics, bold and ambitious new works, including the recent take on Max Richter’s Vivaldi Four Seasons, as well as the upcoming Adieu with the incredible Guillome Côté. Plus, Anna Karenina arrives in June. Tickets for both are on sale now at national.ballet.ca.
