The Shawnee News-Star
The Shawnee News-Star is a daily newspaper based in Shawnee, Oklahoma. It serves as the official newspaper for Pottawatomie, Lincoln, and Seminole counties, which are part of the Oklahoma City metro area. The publication adopted its current name in 1943 after merging the Shawnee Evening Star and the Shawnee Morning News. Originally owned by Stauffer Communications, it was sold to Morris Communications in 1994. In 2007, Morris Communications sold the Shawnee News-Star along with thirteen other newspapers to GateHouse Media.
