The Signpost

The Signpost

The Signpost is a community-driven newspaper focused on the English Wikipedia, its related projects, the Wikimedia Foundation, and the broader Wikimedia movement. Established in 2005, the Signpost is created by volunteers and operates independently from the Wikimedia Foundation and other related organizations. Our mission statement shapes our work. The editorial board, made up of Wikimedia volunteers, along with Editor in Chief Pete Forsyth, make all editorial decisions. In contrast to typical Wikipedia pages, every article in the Signpost includes an author byline and is reviewed by at least one other team member. We encourage readers to help us improve our content by submitting corrections for grammar and spelling after publication, which are subject to review by our team; we appreciate the efforts of our readers in addressing minor errors and adding clarifications. Anyone interested can contribute articles, and we invite suggestions and news tips through our suggestions page or privately. Those looking to contribute are encouraged to check our content guidelines and newsroom page.
