The Tidewater News
Since its establishment in 1905, The Tidewater News has been dedicated to the communities of Franklin, Southampton County, and Isle of Wight County. In its first issue released on October 20, 1905, the publication expressed its goal to provide a “clean, newsy, and progressive newspaper,” ensuring that all relevant news is shared fairly and that The Tidewater News remains a trustworthy and valued presence in readers' homes. Even after three changes in ownership over the last hundred years, this commitment to high-quality local journalism continues to thrive today.
