    Build-to-rent (BTR) developer PLATFORM_ has submitted a planning application for the redevelopment of a historic brownfield site in the city centre. Plans are for 352 BTR apartments and 6,000 sq ft of employment space on the 1.8-acre site, which previously operated as a sawmill and was acquired by PLATFORM_ last summer. This would create 1,300 jobs throughout the construction and operational phases, adding £75 million direct gross value added (GVA) to the local economy.

Persimmon Homes Wessex is seeking outline planning permission to add up to 624 new homes to land north-west of Grove, adjacent to its existing site. The proposed scheme includes infrastructure for community use, including allotments, youth play areas, public open space and the expansion of Grove Cemetery.
