Last night, after a hiatus and change of venue, Susie Mosher’s THE LINEUP had its second night at GREENROOM 42 in the YOTEL, on the 4th floor and it was spectacular. The room is sparkling and glamorous and the lighting and sound were superb. So was the talent. THE LINEUP is a, sort of, OPEN MIC, talent showcase, that is now happening every other Tuesday and is cleverly curated and hosted by the talented and off-the-rails performer, Ms. Mosher, herself.

TOUGH TIMES IN TV-LAND — In the last several weeks two TV shows have literally dominated the media; HBO’s The White Lotus and ABC’s Dr. Odyssey – but both for somewhat different reasons. It was Lotus’ third-season and when the rollout began it was immediately blasted time-and-time again for the poor casting and somewhat lackluster storyline. I agreed at the time and still do as I felt that creator Mike White really dropped the ball with this run.

Last night, the heart of 42nd Street was ablaze as popular young Producers Tom D’Angora and Michael D’Angora celebrated the the reopening of West Bank Cafe and officially cut the metaphorical ribbon of the newly renovated Laurie Beechman Theatre. They called it RENAISSANCE and was a “gala reopening” of the venue, benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. It was also the perfect title for the evening’s event, as the French word conjures up the ideas of rebirth and artistic innovation.
