On Saturday, May 14, the Wood County Museum and Safe Communities of Wood County is holding its 3rd Annual Safety Fair & Cruise-In. This rain or shine event is free for the community to enjoy an up-close look at fire trucks, police cruisers, first responder vehicles, tractors, farm equipment and construction equipment. At the event, there will be vendors specializing in safety information, a kid’s zone with activities, bounces houses and an inflatable obstacle course.

Toledo Area Kids Invited to Audition for Toledo Opera Production

Boys and girls ages 9-14 years old with unchanged voices are invited to audition to sing in the children’s chorus of “Carmen” with Toledo Opera. The commitment is August-October. Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 10am on Sunday, May 18 from 3-6pm at the Toledo Opera Offices, 425 Jefferson Ave., Suite 601. “Carmen” by Georges Bizet will be performed on October 10 and 12 at the Valentine Theatre.

Meet the New Otter Pups at the Toledo Zoo

Four North American river otter pups have joined the family at The Toledo Zoo. Visit the zoo to see Tilly the mom, Winston the dad and their pups Sutton, Tallulah, Kaya and Talon. Their habitat is in Tembo Trail and they can be seen daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., however, they may retreat to their indoor spaces at any time. The new pups were born on Dec. 7 and include two males and two females, each sporting their own unique personality.

New inclusive playspace prepares for soft openingDOT (Defying Odds Therapy) Playspace, featuring climbing structures, swings, a café and more and founded by pediatric occupational therapist Erica Zimmerman, will open this spring. Select offerings are available for their soft opening phase. The inclusive indoor space caters to children of all abilities, offering a sensory-friendly environment for both play and therapeutic activities. There will also be a dedicated area for infants under 24 months.

The Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival is backThe Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival returns for its fourth year on March 15 at Rossford Junior/High School from 9am-3:30pm.
