On Saturday, May 14, the Wood County Museum and Safe Communities of Wood County is holding its 3rd Annual Safety Fair & Cruise-In. This rain or shine event is free for the community to enjoy an up-close look at fire trucks, police cruisers, first responder vehicles, tractors, farm equipment and construction equipment. At the event, there will be vendors specializing in safety information, a kid’s zone with activities, bounces houses and an inflatable obstacle course.

Boys and girls ages 9-14 years old with unchanged voices are invited to audition to sing in the children’s chorus of “Carmen” with Toledo Opera. The commitment is August-October. Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 10am on Sunday, May 18 from 3-6pm at the Toledo Opera Offices, 425 Jefferson Ave., Suite 601. “Carmen” by Georges Bizet will be performed on October 10 and 12 at the Valentine Theatre.
