    Singer-songwriter Meg Washington has announced a brand new album is on the horizon and released its second track. The four-time ARIA Award winner will release her fifth studio album, GEM, on August 8 through Batflower Records via ORiGiN Recordings. It comes after a three-year break since her last album, Hot Fuss. During that time, Washington wrote and produced the 2024 film How to Make Gravy and, in addition, starred as Calypso in the hit children’s series Bluey.

    The Rock 2000 has added Aussie rock heavyweights Grinspoon to this year’s lineup. The legendary Lismore rockers weren’t the only surprise, with recently reformed Kiwi rock band Tadpole also announced. They’ll perform alongside alternative metal band Blindspott and a 30-piece Philharmonic Orchestra at Auckland’s Spark Arena on September 26th. Grinspoon’s appearance falls in the midst of an Australia tour celebrating the band’s 30th birthday.

    Australian musician and comic Tim Minchin has released “I Wouldn’t Like You”, the latest track off of his forthcoming album. Beginning with just Minchin’s vocals and a gentle piano, the tender ballot builds on an alt-rock inspired guitar riff toward a crescendo of Minchin repeating “I wouldn’t like you if you weren’t you”. It’s the third release from Minchin’s upcoming album TimMinchinTimeMachine, following singles “Ruby” and “The Song of The Masochist”.

    Strawberry fields have opened a ticket ballot with thousands hoping to attend the beloved festival. The electronic music and arts festival is returning to the banks of the Murray River from November 21-25 for its 16th anniversary. But with the early-bird sale selling out over a year in advance, organisers have introduced a ballot system to distribute the remaining tickets. Hopeful attendees can register for the ballot before it closes at 11:59pm on June 30th.
