Trails Magazine

Trails Magazine may not be the first printed publication tailored specifically for those who enjoy backpacking, thru-hiking, and multi-day adventures. For a considerable time, Backpacker magazine held that title, and it was my starting point as a writer during my college years. Long before I contributed to Backpacker, it was highly respected: it had been a regular presence in mailboxes for almost 50 years and was often found in gear shops I visited. It became a household name and a cherished source of inspiration for many outdoor enthusiasts. As a kid, it was the first magazine I ever subscribed to, and it was the only one I dreamed of writing for.
