TripReporter.

Trip Reporter is a passion project created by a team of award-winning travel writers. We are naturally curious individuals who, through our journeys, often find unique places and interesting people that we believe others should know about, thanks to our connections with locals. Our dedication and determination allow us to uncover hidden gems that many may overlook. Every article, hotel and restaurant review, piece of gear assessment, golf course evaluation, and cruise experience shared on our site comes from our own firsthand experiences. Occasionally, we stumble upon stories that don't align with what some editors are looking for, or they may not fit a specific brand's image. There are also instances where tales have been shortened from their original versions or, sadly, never published at all.

Andy Mossack reviews SW16 Bar and Kitchen Supper Club, a monthly deep dive into Italian regional food. “Why don’t we normally chill red wine then?”  asked Pip Yarwood, a sommelier of note with Liberty Wines, providers of the wine pairings we were enjoying at this month’s SW16 Bar and Kitchen Supper Club.  We were about to devour our primo course, a large bowl of very green orecchiette, domed pasta shells with broccoli tops, prawns and stracciatella.

Rupert Parker tracks down Dracula In his Guide to Derby and a whole lot more. The East Midlands and Derby are closer than you think. Just 90 minutes from London’s King Cross, I set out to uncover the roots of modern Britain. In the 18th century, Derby became one of the first places in the world to experience large-scale industrialization. The waters of the River Derwent powered a complex of early factories that changed the world.

Andy Mossack tries out the Cookery School Ultimate Fish and Shellfish Class“How can you tell if the fish you’re looking at is fresh?”  Head Chef John’s opening line to his latest class of trainee chefs gave us all a moment to ponder. There we were, donned in our biodegradable aprons, hands freshly washed and eager to spend a day uncovering the secrets of cooking fish and seafood. Because, as he put it, “today you are going to learn how to cook fish, not just read a recipe.”Wise words indeed.

Anthea Gerrie Finds Glamorous Cocktails And Pan-Asian Gourmet Delights at The Cardinal Bar & Kitchen. In the bleak triangle between the City, Shoreditch and the Tower of London, the dining oasis that is The Cardinal Bar & Kitchen hides in plain sight right next door to Aldgate station.   This attractive restaurant with an international menu is barely visible even when you walk into its home, the Saint Hotel, as it’s tucked out of sight in the back of the building.

Andy Mossack eats at Lucky Cat Mayfair by Gordon Ramsay. A Shanghai drinking den has never looked so fancy. As 1930s Shanghai drinking dens go this is most definitely a step up. The default dark, smoky and sleazy feel has been seriously watered down for Mayfair’s well-heeled denizens. Still, the dark bit is retained along with black bamboo walls.
