Upstate Parent

Upstate Parent magazine was established in 2000 by two dedicated moms from the Upstate, Wendy Hilton and Brook Schelble. Together with their families, friends, and community members, they launched Greenville Parent magazine to serve as a helpful guide for parents in the Greenville area. About a year later, The Greenville News acquired Greenville Parent. Under the direction of General Manager Sudie Gambrell, the magazine grew in size and expanded its reach to Spartanburg and Pickens counties. By around 2002, it was rebranded as Upstate Parent. For the past 16 years, Upstate Parent has been committed to being the leading resource for families in the Upstate. We aim to deliver local, relevant information crafted with the utmost journalistic integrity. Understanding that modern families have hectic lives, we have evolved to provide content that is not only informative but also actionable, supportive, and entertaining, all focused on what matters most to families today.
