Benidorm, Spain – European foam trade association Europur announced nine new members at its annual meeting, which is being held in Benidorm. They represent several different parts of the flexible foam supply chain. One, TB Foam Solutions, is a foam producer located in Poland. The company operates a slabstock foam factory in the city of Leszno. Five new members provide PU manufacturers with raw materials, including the Saudi chemicals company Sabic.

Benidorm, Spain – Europur president Bart ten Brink opened the association’s annual congress by highlighting some of the challenges currently facing the industry. The meeting is being held in the Spanish resort of Benidorm, and ten Brink described Spain as an industrial powerhouse in the PU sector. As well as being Europe’s fifth-largest chemical producer, with Portugal it’s the third largest producer of slabstock foam, he said, exporting across Europe, North Africa and beyond.

Wrocław, Poland – Polish foamer Selena has reported EBIT of €6.8m in the first quarter of 2025, representing a 6% increase on the same quarter last year. Net profit from continuing operations was up 4.6% to €4.7m, with gross profit of €5.9m. The company said that, in line with many other companies active in the construction sector, it found business conditions difficult in the quarter.

Herzogenaurach, Germany – Adidas has introduced the first rugby boot designed specifically for women. The RS15 Avaglide was designed using foot data from Adidas-sponsored rugby players, including the current New Zealand and France women’s and men’s teams, along with research data on the anatomical differences between women and men. Qualitative feedback from players was also taken into account. These data were used to develop boots that give better support to women’s feet.
