UVU Review

UVU Review serves as the independent newspaper managed by students at Utah Valley University. It adopted its current name on June 30, 2008, just one day before UVU was officially designated as a university. The newspaper is released every Monday during the fall and spring semesters, and it publishes every other week during the two summer blocks. Generally, the paper features two sections and spans between twelve and sixteen pages, utilizing a broadsheet layout, with printing done by MediaOne of Utah.

    On April 11, UVU’s Game Day cheer team took first place at NCA’s Game Day Division 1 cheer competition in Daytona Beach, Fla. This was the fourth year in a row UVU’s Game Day team has won the national championship. The celebration was encapsulated by the team running into and celebrating in the ocean with the trophy and banner.     schedule 3 min readJust four days apart, two tremendous structure fires in Orem and Provo have left the community pointing fingers and scratching heads. With smoke and foul play in the air, both fires’ origins are being investigated by their respective cities. On Feb. 4, around 8:00 p.m., an abandoned house ignited in South Orem, adjacent to 1600 South and 400 West. The house was set to be demolished the next day for a new development called Acadia Heights, but the flames got to it first.

Over the school year, The Review published several articles sharing those reports with students. However, in a short survey conducted in The Review, 95% of responding students and faculty shared that they did not feel well-informed about the different crimes that occur on campus.
