The Wyoming Cowboys club baseball team was set to open their spring season against the Colorado School of Mines this weekend, kicking it off with a doubleheader on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, the typical Rocky Mountain weather postponed the series, but the Pokes are still ready for the season. The Cowboys compete in Division I of the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA), the highest tier of club baseball.

The Wyoming Cowboys have been busy this offseason, adding lots of new faces to add depth and bolster the team. On top of the signing class, Sawvel has also added a handful of transfers, but along with that is a group of Cowboys who have transferred out, so here’s a breakdown of the moves this offseason:On the offensive side of the ball, a few notable Cowboys hit the portal and have found new homes for next season. These include RB Jamari Ferrell, WR Justin Stevenson, and WR Tyler King.

A little over a month ago, Wyoming All-American wrestler Jore Volk made a tough announcement on his Instagram. “I am extremely saddened to announce that I will be taking a medical redshirt for the remainder of the season due to a season ending injury,” it said. After a breakout freshman campaign followed by an incredible NCAA tournament run which earned him All-American honors in his sophomore year, Volk was poised to take the next step and win it all this season.
