The Van Buren County Democrat serves as the primary source of local news for over 17,000 people living in Van Buren County, Arkansas. This newspaper was first established in Clinton in 1909 by J.B. Fraser, who was both the editor and publisher. Although it faced challenges during The Great Depression and ceased operations in 1933, it soon resumed publication and has remained a vital part of the community for nearly 80 years.
