Lionsgate just dropped the poster and trailer for Bloat, the first feature from writer/director Pablo Absento. Set in Japan, which has been the director’s home for the past nine years. It’s a screenlife thriller about Hannah (Bojana Novakovic, The Hallow, Beyond Skyline) and her two sons Kyle (Sawyer Jones, Antlers, Divinity) and Steve (Malcolm Fuller, City on a Hill, Puppy Palace) who are on vacation when the youngest nearly drowns.

Lionsgate has a boxing drama, Uppercut, coming out in January with Ving Rhames, Joanna Cassidy and a lot of actors I’ve never heard of before. I don’t have much information beyond the cast, plot synopsis and the fact it’s director Torsten Ruether’s third time telling the same story. Still, I’m pretty sure it has to be more exciting than the Mike Tyson/Jake Paul match.
