Waitrose Food Magazine

Waitrose & Partners has its roots in 1904 on the high street, when Wallace Wyndham Waite, Arthur Rose, and David Taylor opened their inaugural store in Acton. This dynamic trio established a thriving business by offering an impressive range of grocery items that stood out at the time. Their commitment to high quality and competitive pricing led to rapid expansion. Waite managed purchasing, Rose handled the finances, and Taylor oversaw the shop operations. After two years, Taylor left the partnership, allowing Waite and Rose to officially create the well-known brand, Waitrose Ltd., in 1908.

Prized for their waxy texture, paper-thin skin and sweet, earthy flavour, Scottish Ayrshire potatoes have just arrived on the shelves. So what’s the secret to these extra-delicious potatoes?
