The money comes from a National Resource Conservation Service program that started several years ago as the Wallowa North Alder Slope Renewal Project and the Regional Conservation Partnership Program.

Dan Larman submitted his letter of resignation, effective immediately, as city administrator due to “personal reasons.” Mayor Stephen Bartlow said Larman’s reasons were because of health concerns.

She’s not new to the area or to real estate. She’s been a broker for almost five years. “I started out at Timberline Realty (in Joseph) and I’ve been here for over two years,” she said. Overton joined the agency as a broker and worked her way up. “And then I bought it,” she said.

She said the state has found some 1,800 noncitizens who have illegally or inadvertently registered to vote. “Wallowa County hasn’t received any,” Lathrop said.
