For now…Today (April 15, 2025), some Olympia lawmakers proposed a hike to the already high excise tax paid by Washington’s breweries. The Washington Brewers Guild calls it a 100% increase in the tax that a Washington brewery already pays on every drop of beer it produces.

Fort Point Beer and HenHouse Brewing, Another Craft Beer Merger

San Francisco’s Fort Point Beer Co. and Sonoma County’s HenHouse Brewing Co. just announced that they’ve merged and are now operating as Fort Point HenHouse. Each brewery will remain an independent brand, but are now combined on the backend. Post-merge, Fort Point HenHouse is expected to produce over 40,000 barrels of beer annually. The official announcement said the merger allows the companies to pool teams, resources, and brewing operations.
