In October 2008, I started the Washington Beer Blog to offer a reliable source of news and insights into the growing craft beer culture in Washington state. I picked the term "blog" since it was popular back then, but today it doesn't fully capture what this news and information platform provides.

Lace ‘em up! Shoulders back, chin up, we’ve got work to do. And we don’t have long to do it. I will soon share information about how you can act and make your voice heard. For now…Today (April 15, 2025), some Olympia lawmakers proposed a hike to the already high excise tax paid by Washington’s breweries. The Washington Brewers Guild calls it a 100% increase in the tax that a Washington brewery already pays on every drop of beer it produces.
