    Republic Services, Inc. plans to construct a recycling centre in Bridgeton, Missouri, to serve Greater St. Louis and the region. The 105,000-square-foot recycling centre is estimated to manage recyclables from approximately three million people. The high-capacity facility will process up to 45 tons, or nine truckloads, of single-stream recyclables per hour, including paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and jugs, aluminum and metal food and beverage cans, and glass bottles and jars.

    Thailand seized 16 shipping containers filled with illegal e-waste being smuggled into the country in May 2025, and Malaysia reported that from January 1 to May 13, 122 containers were detained and confirmed to be carrying e-waste. On May 14, Thai officials detained 10 containers containing 238 tonnes of e-waste, and said they would be returned to their country of origin, the United States. Another six containers were inspected on May 20 and were also found to contain illegal e-waste.
