WBZN-FM (Brewer, ME)

WBZN is a radio station based in Old Town, Maine, broadcasting on the frequency of 107.3 MHz (FM). It has been operational since August 1996. Before adopting its current Top 40 format, the station featured a "Greatest Hits of the 70s" classic hits format while it was owned by Eclipse Broadcasting, which was founded by Chuck Foster and Mike Elliott. During that time, WBZN was known by the on-air slogan Z107.3. The station also played a significant role in supporting the Eastern Maine Medical Center's Children's Miracle Network charities, led by the late Sales Manager, Greg Carpenter.

This story was told to me by a coworker who used to be pretty close friends with Galen Cole, who's a legendary figure in the Bangor area. He will come into the story more in a bit... While you and I might argue that they're completely useless, there are a ton of animals where ticks provide a natural source of protein. Especially after they're gorged. If there is such a thing... We maintain feeders all summer long and enjoy spending time on the deck watching them up close, as they fly way too close to our chairs, haha. It's not that I don't like people, because that's not true. But it is true that I'm not necessarily a social person. I'm not usually apt to go to parties, or concerts, or places where there might be big crowds. It's ironic in some ways, because in my former life as a professional musician, the goal was always to have packed houses. It seems when I was a kid, we went several times a year. And while it was certainly a popular tourist destination, it seems recent years have seen the region grow into one of the nation's top spots for tourism. So these days, I'm more apt to go when it's just a smidge quieter. Like the fall, which is a magical time in Acadia.
